Appearance: 

Tall and light boned with a narrow chest, long muzzle and dome-shaped head. Very similar in look to the Beagle except being much taller and larger.


Color: 

Red, tri, black and tan and blue.


Grooming: 
Very little grooming required.

Temperament: 

Easygoing, laid back, intelligent and bred to run and hunt. Patient, gentle and affectionate. Very loving but can be stubborn to obedience training.


Lifespan: 
12 years

History: 

Originated in America in the 1650's as pack hunting dogs.


Health Concerns: 

Generally free of genetic disorders. Can develop hip dysplasia or eye problems.
