Appearance:
Tall, slender, graceful dogs covered in silky medium length wavy hair that lies flat. They have long, thin heads with long, thin muzzles and ears that lie on the neck. The tail is long and thin and carried low with a graceful curve.

Temperament:
Very independent and loyal. They are quiet and athletic. As a sight hound they have a strong prey drive and must be kept in a fenced in area or on leash. Well mannered and sensitive.

History:
Developed by Russian Nobles hundreds of years ago to hunt wolves and larger game relying mainly on sight and not smell. They were bred to chase, catch and hold the prey until hunters arrived.
