Appearance: 

Short, compact framed dogs with flat, wide heads (proportioned to their bodies) and short flat muzzles. Ears are small, erect and situated near the corners of the head. The tail is fine, carried low or usually docked.


Color: 

Brindle, seal or black all with white markings.


Grooming: 
Very little grooming required.

Temperament: 

Playful, loving, even-tempered, easy to train and loyal. They are well-mannered and make great family companions. They do well in smaller dwellings.


Lifespan: 
16 years

History: 

Originated in Boston in the 1870's by breeding English Terriers with English Bulldogs.


Health Concerns: 

Eye problems, heart problems and allergies.
