Thick, muscular dogs with long oval-shaped heads and flat-topped muzzles. Ears are thin, small and erect. Tail is short, set low and tapers from thick to thin. The coat is short, tough to the touch and glossy.
White (markings on the head are permitted).
Playful, loving, even-tempered, easy to train and loyal. They are well-mannered and make great family companions. They do well in smaller dwellings. They are protective and fearless.
Originated in England in the 19th Century by crossing Bulldogs and Terriers. Were used for their hunting, ratting, herding and guarding skills.
Generally free of genetic disorders. Some may be born deaf. Prone to weight gain.
