Small, low, long, sturdy, squarely-built dogs covered in a dense medium-length coat. The head is wide and flat with large, round ears that stand erect and a short, rounded muzzle. The tail lies low and never curls over the back.

Highly intelligent, loving, faithful dogs that need a great deal of exercise and mental stimulation. They are natural herders and must be supervised around children due to their tendency to nip at the heels. Highly trainable and athletic. They make great family companions.
