Appearance: 

Medium-sized, long, low, heavy-boned dog covered in a dense weather resistant coat. The head is large and heavy with a slight furrow between the eyes. The muzzle is broad and deep and able to carry large game with a tender mouth. The eyes are large, dark and soft in expression. The ears are broad, triangular and set low against the cheeks. The tail is feathered and carried level.


Color: 

White with lemon or orange markings.


Grooming: 
High level of grooming required.

Temperament: 

Easygoing, laid back, loving and playful. They are gentle and noble. They move slowly and tend to drool quite a bit. They get along well with other pets and children and make a great family companion.


Lifespan: 
13 years

History: 

Originated in France in the 18th Century and was used for hunting by aristocrats.

Hip dysplasia, disc problems and eye problems.
