Appearance: 

Medium-sized dogs with light frames and long, bushy coats. The head is thin and wedge shaped and the muzzle is long and pointed. The ears are triangular and held erect, except for the tip that folds over. The tail may be smooth, feathered or busy, is held level and never curls over the back.


Color: 

Sable and white, tri-color, blue merle and white.


Grooming: 
High level of grooming required.

Temperament: 

Very intelligent, loving, playful dog with a strong herding instinct. Gentle, patient and generally good with children and other pets. They do require regular exercise and mental stimulation. They make great family companions.

History: 

Although the exact date of origin is unknown Collies have existed for centuries in Scotland and England as herding and droving dogs. They became popular in the 1860s when Queen Victoria fell in love with them and made it fashionable to own one.


Health Concerns: 

Hip dysplasia, eye problems and arthritis.
