Appearance: 

Medium-sized dogs covered in silky long coats that grow on the ears, tail and chest. The head is lean and the muzzle is square and tapered. The ears are set low, rounded at the ends and covered in long hair. The chest is wide, the back slopes slightly downward and the tail is a smooth continuation of the top line. The tail is feathered and carried level.


Color: 

White ground color with flecks/patches of color of orange belton, blue belton, liver belton, lemon belton and tri-color.


Grooming: 
Minimal grooming required.

Temperament: 

Easygoing, mellow, playful and sensitive. They love being outdoors and have a strong instinct to flush and retrieve game. Form strong bonds with family members, are patient and get along well with other pets and children. They need daily exercise.


Lifespan: 
12 years

History: 

Originated in Britain in the 16th Century as a cherished bird dog used by the nobles.


Health Concerns: 

Generally free of genetic disorders, may develop hip dysplasia.
