Appearance: 

Small, cobby-framed, square dog covered in silky wavy coats. Their heads are rounded and have pug-like features including a flat, pushed up muzzle and big, wide eyes. The ears are long and covered in wavy hair. The tail is usually docked.


Color: 

Blenheim, tri-color, ruby or black and tan.


Grooming: 
Minimal grooming required.

Temperament: 

Gentle, happy and playful. They are well-mannered and intelligent. They form strong bonds with family members and get along well with other pets and children. They have a strong instinct to chase and retrieve fowl and small game so it is important to have them in fenced in areas or on lead.


Lifespan:

History: 

Originated in China thousands of years ago. They were primarily bred for companionship to the wealthy. They were also used as smaller bird dogs.
