Appearance: 

Medium-sized and muscular. They have thick wavy coats that are soft. They have long heads and flat skulls with small eyes. They have folded v-shaped ears that are close to the cheek and beards. They have long necks and short backs. The tail is of medium length, straight and carried erect.


Color: 

Any shade of grey blue or blue grey.


Grooming: 
Weekly bathing and brushing. Light shedders. Need beard maintenance. (Velcro-like coats)

Temperament: 

They are loyal and natural protectors. They make good watch dogs. They form strong bonds with their owners and family. The are sweet and good with children. They like to hunt and require daily exercise.


Lifespan: 
15 years

History: 

Originated in Ireland and named after the County Kerry region. Bred for hunting and retrieving small game and herding. The English then used it for show.
