Appearance: 

They are large and muscular with a large head and medium almond-shaped eyes. Their coats are dense, soft and fall into chords. The ears are elongated, triangle-shaped with rounded tips and are hanging. They have wide and truncated muzzles. The tail is a continuation of the rump line reaching to the hocks and carried low.

White or cream

High level of grooming required.

Temperament: 

Strong, fearless, hard-working dog that is naturally protective and reserved with strangers. They require a great deal of mental and physical stimulation. They are highly intelligent, patient and make wonderful family companions.


Lifespan: 
12 years

History: 

They were brought to Hungary in the 12th and 13th century. They were bred to be guard dogs and to protect the livestock on a farm.


Health Concerns: 

Hip dysplasia, eye problems, bloating and parasites.
