Appearance: 

Small and muscular with a short, flat, harsh and glossy coat. Their heads are long and they have oval faces. The eyes are small, sunken, triangular and obliquely placed. The ears are small, thin and are erect. Their tails are short, tapered and stick straight out.

Minimal grooming.

Temperament: 

They are silly dogs that make good companions. They are protective and don't notice their size. They are gentle, sweet and great with children. They require daily physical and mental stimulation. They need to be in fenced in areas or on leads because they like to chase critters they see.

History: 

Were bred in 19th century England to be ratters, guard dogs and herders. Are popular show dogs.

Heart defects and eye problem. Prone to weight gain.
