Small, thick frame with hard, wiry and straight coats. Have manes on neck and shoulders. The head is round with a wedge-shaped muzzle. Their eyes are small, dark and oval shaped. The ears are dropped and hang close to the cheek. They are small and v-shaped with rounded tips and they feel velvety. They have little legs and medium-sized tails that are carried high.
All shades of red, wheaten, black and tan or grizzle.
Adaptable, social and affectionate. Good with children and people. They become attached to their owners and crave togetherness. They can be very vocal. The are hunters and have a natural prey drive. Require daily mental and physical stimulation
Bred in England in the 19th century to capture small vermin. Were known as Cantab Terrier, Trumpington Terrier and Jones Terriers.
