Appearance: 

Small and athletic frames. Coat is smooth, broken, dense and has a good sheen. They have flat head with rectangular muzzles. The eyes are almond-shaped and dark and the ears are v-shaped that are carried forward and close to the head. The tail is held high.


Color: 

White, white with black or tan markings or a combination of these.


Grooming: 
Regular brushing and bathing.

Temperament: 

Bold, friendly and energetic. They are very protective and noisy. They are hunters and don't mix well with certain pets. They don't like to be handled roughly and might not do well with children.


Lifespan: 
15 or more years

History: 

Originated in England to hunt foxes and other small game. Were named after the breeder Reverend John Russell.


Health Concerns: 

Eye problems, dislocated kneecaps and joint problems.
