Appearance: 

They have athletic frames with a short, dense and smooth coat that has a sheen. The head is clean-cut with a long muzzle. The ears are set at eye level that hang level with the jaw and the eyes are round. The tail is thick at the root and tapers.

Liver, lemon orange and black as solids or combinations with white.


Grooming: 
Brushing every few days and regular ear inspections.

Temperament: 

Protective, gentle and rustic hunters. They have a hunting instinct and love to be outdoors. They are good with children and love to play. They love to exercise and need daily amounts of it.

12 to 17 years

History: 

Originated in England in the 17th century. Worked with hunters to point out the game. Appeared in the U.S. in the 19th century.
