Appearance: 

Medium-sized and muscular frames with a double coat which is long, shaggy and thick. There is a profuse amount of hair on the head. The eyes are oval and brown. The ears are heart-shaped, drop and are covered in hair. The tail is naturally short or docked.

High level of grooming required.

Temperament: 

They are very trainable and have a great memory. They are reserved around strangers and are self-confident. They need daily exercise.


Lifespan: 
11 to 14 years

History: 

Originated in Poland around the 13th century. They were bred to be herding dogs.
