Appearance: 

Small with a round head and a short, blunt muzzle. The coat is short, fine, smooth and glossy. The eyes are large, prominent, dark and globular in shape. The ears are either button- or rose-shaped and are small, soft and thin. The face is covered with deep and large wrinkles. They have a single- and double-curled tail.


Color: 

Fawn or black.


Grooming: 
Minimal grooming required, however regular cleaning of the wrinkles is necessary

Temperament: 

Cuddly, patient and playful. They like to lie around as well as play and be energetic. They love attention and can be the jealous type. They are good with children and make good watchdogs. They are curious and can get into trouble. They need daily exercise.


Lifespan: 
14 years

History: 

Where and when the Pug has originated is unsure, but is believed that they came from China during the Shang Dynasty. The breed became popular in the U.S. in 1885.


Health Concerns: 

Breathing problems, eye problems and prone to gain weight.
