Appearance: 

Small with a long and flat or wavy hair. The head is triangular in shape with almond-shaped eyes. The ears are either cropped or uncropped. They are small and wide at that base. The muzzle is straight and shorter than the head.


Color: 

Shade of fawn, tan and copper with or with out a mixture of black and grey hairs.


Grooming: 
Weekly brushing and regular checks for burrs and matting.

Temperament: 

Intelligent, lively, loyal and loving. Very athletic. They are natural herding and guard dogs. The make great companions and are extremely trainable. Require a great deal of physical and mental stimulation.


Lifespan: 
15 years.

History: 

Were used during WWI as watch dogs, search and rescue dogs and mascots.


Health Concerns: 

Generally free of genetic disorders.
