Appearance: 

Small, compact, sturdy little dogs covered in long, silky hair. The head is wedge-shaped with a short, square muzzle. The ears are small, triangular-shaped, carried erect and covered in long, silky hair. The tail is usually docked and carried high.


Color: 

Blue and tan.


Grooming: 
Requires regular grooming to maintain appearance.

Temperament: 

Feisty, lively, intelligent, brave little dogs that love to dig, chase and play. They are great family companions that make good little watch dogs. They are naturally protective.


Lifespan: 
15 years

History: 

Originated in Australia in the 1900's by crossing the Yorkshire Terrier and the Australian Terrier.


Health Concerns: 

Generally free of genetic disorders. May develop diabetes and/or epilepsy.
