Appearance: 

Small, low-legged, sturdy dogs covered in long harsh hair. The face is veiled by the long hair and the ears are pointed, erect and covered by long hair that blends into the veil of the hair around the face. The head is broad with a short muzzle and the eyes are dark and set closely together. The tail is long, well-feathered and carried level.


Color: 

Black, grey, silver, blue, cream and fawn.


Grooming: 
Requires regular grooming to maintain appearance.

Temperament: 

Intelligent, lively, brave little dogs with a strong instinct to dig, chase and hunt. They are easy to train and make great family companions. They do well in smaller dwellings.


Lifespan: 
15 years

History: 

Originated in Scotland as a hunter and herder.
