Appearance:

Small, sturdy dogs covered in smooth, short coats. The head is broad and flat and the muzzle is long and square. The ears are small, V-shaped and folded at the tips. The tail is usually docked and carried high.

Mostly white with either black or brown patches.

Grooming:

Minimal grooming required.

Temperament:

Lively, active, feisty little dogs that have a lot of energy and need a great deal of exercise. They are very loyal and loving and form strong bonds with family members.

History:

Originated in the 1800's in England to flush foxes out of their dens after the hounds had chased them in. Were also used to hunt small game.
