Appearance:
Medium-sized, compact dogs covered in straight coats of silky hair. The head is dome-shaped and the muzzle is square and short. The ears are well-feathered and hang close to the head. The tail is usually docked and carried erect.

Minimal grooming required.
Temperament:
Gentle, playful, active dogs which a strong instinct to flush, hunt and retrieve. They are patient, well-mannered and generally good with children and other pets. They should be kept in a fenced in area and require daily exercise.
