Appearance: 

Small, sturdy little dogs covered in long silky hair. The head is flat and covered in long hair. The muzzle is short. The ears are small, set high on the head and covered in long hair. The tail is usually docked.

Black and tan or blue and tan.

Regular grooming required to maintain appearance.

Temperament: 

Lively, feisty, fearless and loving little dogs. They are intelligent and easy to train. They form strong bonds with family members and make great family companions. They have a high prey drive and should be kept in a fenced in area. They are loving and generally good with children and other pets.

15 years

History: 

Originated in England in the 19th century as little hunting dogs to flush game out of the ground. They were also cherished family companions.
